Tyra Lynne Banks, a famous American personality has always been outspoken about a healthy and positive body image and even remembers her body shamers in the past.
This time Tyra Banks has stolen the spotlight with her recent weight loss. She has incredibly lost 30 pounds and she did it through moderation and working with a nutritionist, the model told in a recent interview with People.
The 44 year old model, Tyra told People, “She used to feel like her body was not her. She has been too thin or too big. She used to feel like she was betraying people if she lost weight.”
Tyra banks reached to fame, fortune after juggling with lot of criticism over the years through her career of being a super model, actress and even a talk show host.
For so much of her career, she has been the subject of conversation in the weight loss world for years as her weight gradually fluctuated since her super modeling career.
She said “balance is the key” when she didn’t go on her new diet and workout plan. She also noted that there’s one food that she will still love to treat for herself.
“I’m all about moderation but you have to indulge,” says Tyra. Her mom and she together are very dangerous. They both love ice cream.
According to People, she chose to lose weight after her ankle injury nine months ago. Her doctor advised her that losing weight will help her injury to heal.
Banks said, “I lost 30 lbs.” And she was right.
She has been a longtime advocate of body positivity. She not only made history by appearing as the first black woman on the cover page of Sports Illustrated but did respond to criticism with her withering appearance on the TV where she told them to “kiss my fat a—.”
Yet, Tyra wasn’t self-contained until things got changed after her weight loss.
Banks said, “Now I’m a different body type but I don’t feel like I’m betraying people. I’ve still got a–, still got boobs!”
Mrs. Banks has struggled with her weight since 2007 but recently she made a drastic change.
Even though her son was born via surrogacy, Banks began to eat more. In fact, Radar Online slammed the super model for weight gain, “Granted the formerly trim Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl has a new baby, but isn’t the surrogate mother who should be carrying the extra weight?”
Like many new moms, her body too went through physical transformation even though she had surrogacy. According to People, she said, she wanted to be bigger for him even though he was born through surrogacy.
She said, “She felt that love in a way. I wanted him to feel that cush and that nurture.”
While living in the ecstasy of her baby, she suffered from an ankle injury. Banks then visited to doctor where she was suggested to lose weight in order to allow the injury to heal properly.
Tyra hired a nutritionist thereby that helped her drop 30 pounds, reports People. Tyra Banks admitted she feels “fleshly good” after losing some weight.
She then added, “Having a son later in life, she wants to be still be able to hold him and run around and chase him and not get spasms.”
