He is certainly the first but the latest and perhaps the most notable these days. We are talking about Joe Thomas and his complete new look.
It has been just few months since Joe Thomas announced his retirement. However, the retirement turns out to be good for him, it suits him or at least suits his scale.
The 33 years old former American football player has dropped significant weight. It was not that he was unhealthy – it’s just his job which requires fueling and fueling and fueling to be big enough to do it.
On Monday when appeared on NFL Network, Joe looked quite different with face noticeably slimmer. When being asked, he replied, he lost 50 pounds since his official retirement.
At his playing weight, now-retired Brown, who deal with Joe Thomas, topped the scale of more than 300 pounds. Then after this was the only thing Thomas was looking forward to lose those pounds. On the NFL Network this week, he said, “I was eager to lose weight than anything else in the retirement.”
Thomas did it in a pretty simple way as he explained from NFL.com:
He said, “You don’t eat until you feel like you are gonna throw up at every meal and all of a sudden the weight falls right off.”
This is something the way he used to eat:
Back when I used to practice (llloooonnngg time ago😂) I used to drink 2 big glasses of whole milk and a sleeve of thin mint Girl Scout cookies before bed just to get enough calories in the day to maintain weight. https://t.co/KGqLeARGWH

Thomas basically didn’t have any magic diet which helped him drop significant pounds. It’s just that if you stop eating as much as you need to maintain that weight as an NFL left tackle.
- Average of 5000 calories per day or twice over what a non-elite-lineman is required to eat in a day
- Get to buy smaller pants
Joe Thomas himself pointed out that he needed that much weight when he was playing. It was necessary while being such sports. You are supposed to be more than 300 pounds or at least 300 pounds else you’re going to get pounded to a pulp. This is the reason why he used to eat 4200 calories in a day.
You have to be heavy to play NFL OL. If you played at 260 like they did in the 80s, you’d be mashed into pieces https://t.co/e64UFnssyR

Nevertheless, he is done with the football and doesn’t need extra weight. Thus, he made losing his weight as his most important priority during his retirement.
Speaking on the NFL Network’s Inside Training Camp Live this week, Thomas declared he has shed 50 pounds since his retirement from the NFL.
